Jazz [ADAPT Jazz]

Energetic style of dance that is set to current and up-beat pop music, moving with funky new dance combinations. Technique builds through levels as student’s progress each year. Each student will have the option to participate in annual ADAPT jazz exams once they are developed enough in their level. This class is a great way to improve coordination, rhythm, flexibility, muscle control, and overall fitness. Contemporary

A compilation of different styles of dance including jazz, lyrical, classical ballet and modern. While it incorporates technique from these styles, such as jumps, kicks, and turns…it  rejects the limitations of the classical styles…such as good posture, pointed feet, and stretched legs. Contemporary has a strong emotional connection that often pulls on past experiences and draw on feelings which results in expressions of joy, anger, and sorrow.

Lyrical Jazz

An expressive form of dance that combines the technical elements of jazz and ballet, while allowing fluidity, exploration and freedom of movement.  This class is a great way to improve coordination, rhythm, flexibility, muscle control, and overall fitness.

Tap

Tap is a lively and dynamic class that focuses on rhythms and sounds created by the dancer’s ‘happy’ feet and is one of the best ways to sharpen musicality and coordination.  Performances are set to current energetic music or even done acapella to improve synchronization.  Yearly ADAPT Tap exams are optional.

These workshops are practical, hands-on training for those who want to have the confidence to utilize quick, easy defence tactics without having to take formal martial arts classes.  Conflict-avoidance, environmental awareness, target-hardening, escapes, striking and utilization of  ‘weapons of opportunity’.  Since the ultimate goal is NOT to be in a situation, discussions on prevention will also take place.
